Big Tex Fire Protection started back in 1990 by James Hohlt who was retired military. Mr. Hohlt did a lot of fire sprinkler work in the government sector on the bases to assist in there fire suppression systems, area hospitals, colleges and San Antonio International Airport. Mark Lipton started off as an employee of his back in 1997 who had previous experience working with another sprinkler company in the area. Mr. Hohlt saw something in Mark and took him under his wings that allowed Mark the opportunity of a lifetime to grow Big Tex Fire Protection in to what it is today. Mr. Hohlt was ready to retire once again in 2010 and let Mark handle the entire operation along side with help from his wife, Carol. As Mark and Carol were handling the everyday business and Mark gaining the respect of many contractors to be a part of the growth of Big Tex, Mr. Hohlt suddenly passed away in 2014. Because of the dedication and the hard work to include the dedicated employees who have been with us from the start of this journey with over 28 years of experience and the great relationships with our contractors we are still servicing from Waco down to the Valley in the great state of Texas.
